July Favorites!

Hey beauty lovers! Welcome to my first monthly favorites blog! I will try to do one every month because I love trying new things all the time, so if anyone has suggestions on things I should try or things you guys would like to see me review please leave it in the comments below. In this post I will list my faves from the things I have tried this month and do a quick review of each product.

Makeup:

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Cream Makeup Foundation in Ivory

I have mentioned this in a post before but I really can't say enough good things about it! I really like this foundation. As for it being like whipped cream, it is pretty thick maybe how whipped cream would be after you deflated it some; as this does not have any air in it. I feel the consistency is more like pudding than whipped creme. This makeup comes in 12 shades and retails for $13.99. It claims to last up to 24 hours but I don't want to test that. I love this mostly because I do not have to set it with powder. I have very dry skin and sometimes powder just shows every dry, flakey patch on my face so I love that this sets up and does not need finishing powder. It leaves a natural, dewey finish that looks like real skin. It is a medium to full coverage foundation but it not as heavy as I was worried it would be and this stuff stays put even on hot days! I wore this all day and then walked nearly three miles down the Las Vegas strip in 103 degree weather and my makeup still looked good when we got home that night.

L'oreal Telescopic Mascara in Black
This mascara was recommended to me by a client and I totally love it! It also comes in brown as well as waterproof and retails for $9.49. My lashes are somewhat long naturally so this stuff makes them ridiculously long, like almost to my eyebrows long!  I really like the brush, it makes it easy for me to separate my lashes and really get the ones closest to the edges as well as the my bottom lash line. I have an issue with really big brushes making my lashes clump together so this product works great for me!

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes
Yes, more mascara! This just came out and I was so excited to try it! It only comes in black and retails for $35.00. While my L'oreal telescopic mascara makes my lashes long it doesn't do much for volume. This stuff really makes my lashes look super full! The secret with this product is the little white tube. It contains loose fibers that bind with the mascara to build up the lashes. I do a base coat with the telescopic, then a coat of the Too Faced mascara, then the fibers, and a last coat of the too faced mascara as the fibers are white and need to covered to achieve the final look. My lashes don't hold curl very well so I find that I need to curl again after it all dries.

Barry M Lip Paints in Palest Lavender

Barry M is a UK brand that just started shipping to the US, so of course I had to order some. I ordered a foundation, a blush, and two lip paints. This is my fave product from the lot so far. It is such a pretty color! It is somewhat comparable to Power from Nyx. I find this one to be more purple and have a creamier finish. Here is a link to this product. http://www.barrym.com/products/lips/paint/lip-paint.html They have so many amazing colors! This retails for about $5.00 after you figure the exchange rate. Shipping is high, about $15, so make the order worth it!

China Glaze nail polish in Kiwi Coolada
I know this isn't makeup but it is my only nail polish purchase of the month and I cannot get enough of this color right now! I love the neon trend this summer! This has a weird matte finish to it so definitely needs a good, shiny top coat to finish off your look.

Hair Products:

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment and Lee Stafford Argan Oil

Once again this is a UK brand that is somewhat new to the US, or well at least new to Ulta. My store just started carrying this about three months ago and I was drawn to the packaging right away. The first product is a growth treatment "for hair that never grows past a certain length", yes that is really the name, it had good reviews so I thought I would try it. Ulta was having a buy one get one sale so I also picked up the Argan Oil treatment. I love both products! Now, I am not sure that this stuff is really making my hair grow but it certainly does make your hair feel super soft and healthy. The oil is not too heavy and great to fight frizz and smooth the ends of your hair. The only thing that could be off putting for some is the fragrance of these products, both have a somewhat strong smell. I happen to like the smell so it does not bother me, but I have read in a few reviews that it was a turn off for some. The growth treatments retails for $11.99 and the Argan Oil for $13.99.

Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protecting Spray

This is my all time fave heat protecting spray! Yes, a hair stylist is saying she likes some random drugstore brand hair product! This has no hold so it does not make my hair sticky, it helps the iron glide through my hair, and it makes my hair so shiny! When I first started using it people would ask me if I had just touched up my color because my hair looked so shiny. Nope, just this super awesome new product. It retails for $4.99. Go buy some! No more excuses to not use a heat protector and fry your poor ends with that flat iron!

Fashion:

Torrid Maxi Dress and Fifi Suede flatform sandals

Okay, first off lol at this pic! She has no feet! But seriously, I love this dress! I have deemed it my day off dress because I cannot wear it to work so I always wear it on my day off. It is so beautiful! The stripes are very on trend and super figure flattering. It is a little stretchy, super comfy, and long enough that my 5' 10" self can even rock these four inch flat forms with it! These shoes are really cute and easy to walk in. They dress up jeans and go great with skirts and dresses. I personally didn't like the two toned style so I did paint the heel and platform of mine matte black. They are pretty comfy for how tall they are but have almost no padding so they feel like you are walking on blocks of wood after a few hours.

Futuristic Choker, Double finger ring, and spike earrings from Glint & Gleam

I have a new favorite site! http://shoplately.com/?u=trzxc5ty Everything is so affordable, especially if you wait for it to show up on the sale rack! This site is so amazing! They have $2.99 flat rate shipping per retailer. So that means if you order from two different vendors you pay $2.99 per vender as your packages are coming from two separate places. I have only ordered from Glint & Gleam and I love their stuff. It is such good quality for amazing prices. And after my first order they gave me a five dollar gift card just for shopping with them! My first order was the earrings, the next was the ring which I got for free because of the gift card and it being on sale for five bucks! And a client of mine bought me that amazing chokers! So thoughtful! If you love accessories you have to check this site out!

So that is all my July favorites! I hope you guys liked this! Let me know your thoughts and leave me any suggestions of things you think I might like to try! Thanks for reading!
